River Sege
Most famous for its big catches of ide. Even if the ide is often the target the number of roach and bream is increasing. Every year several perch over 1 kilo are caught here.
The stretch opposite the refuse dump

Description : A slow flowing stretch, 40-50 meter wide. You will find a short sloping edge towards the water. Platform is recommended on most pegs. Wading is allowed, but only to a distance so that you still reach land with one hand.
Normally you can park your car just behind your peg
Number of pegs : 50+
Depth : The river is shallow
with a depth between 120-150 cm over the whole stretch, but the
water level can vary depending on the tide which means that parts of the river
can be even more shallow at a low tide.
Bait : Normally the bait here is maggot, either as sticky-mag or as loosefeed depending on the method used and the wind. The quantity used is between 3-6 litre, based on the method used.
Tackle : The fishing can change from one day to the other, and so do the methods. A typical method used to be a small waggler down the middle of the river, combined with loosefeed maggots and sweet corn.
In recent years all methods have come into play. Telescopic poles of 6-8 metres with thicker line and speed fishing for big fish has its days but so has long pole/ short line around 12-13 metres.
Some groundbait is normally used in the beginning of the match.
Target Weight : Normal is to fish for at around 30-60 kg in 5 hours. The venue record is over 100 kg of big ide, and most years 60-80 kg bags are caught.
The most dominant fish is ide
usually 200-500 g. but
frequently there are shoals of much bigger fish present, between 1 and 1,5
kilo. The roach are mainly around 100-400 g and the bream could be anything
from 400 g to 4 kg! The perch are big too varying from 300 g to
1,5 kg.
